Our applications are designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data necessary to provide our services:
Purchase Information
When you purchase a product, payment is processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your payment details, billing address, and email address. We receive your email address and transaction details from Paddle to generate and deliver your license key. We do not store or have access to your full payment card details.
License & Email Data
Your email address is embedded in your license key and used to send your license key email. License key records (email and transaction ID) are stored temporarily for key retrieval purposes.
Desktop Applications
- Local Data: Our desktop applications (including AppleStand) store all data locally on your machine. Credentials are stored in macOS Keychain.
- No Telemetry: Our paid desktop applications do not phone home, collect analytics, or transmit usage data.
- License Validation: License key validation is performed entirely offline using cryptographic verification. No network calls are made to validate your license.
Website
- Location Data: Some of our web apps may request location access to provide location-based features. This data is processed locally in your browser and is not transmitted to our servers.
- Device Information: We may collect basic device information for crash reporting and improvement purposes.
How We Use Your Information
- Generate and deliver license keys after purchase
- Send transactional emails (license key delivery, purchase receipts)
- Provide customer support
- Improve and maintain our services
- Identify and fix bugs or technical issues
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may process your data:
- Paddle — Payment processing, tax compliance, and invoicing (Merchant of Record)
- Resend — Transactional email delivery (license key emails)
- Cloudflare — Website and API hosting infrastructure
- Apple — App distribution (App Store), notarization services
Each of these services has their own privacy policy governing their handling of your data.
Data Retention
- License key records: Stored for 30 days in our retrieval system, then automatically deleted
- License key emails: Sent once at purchase; we do not maintain an email list
- Payment records: Retained by Paddle according to their data retention policy and legal requirements
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. Secrets and credentials are stored using encrypted storage. All data in transit uses TLS encryption.
Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
